Promoting wellness and health
The Wheeler Recreation Center provides current UB students, faculty and staff with recreational and fitness opportunities that are geared to increase an individual’s overall health and well-being.
Our recreational and sports programs are aimed at promoting wellness among the UB community of students, faculty and staff. Recreation and leisure activities offered at UB focus on integrating mind and body through positive traditional and non-traditional recreation and sports activities.
The Wheeler Recreation Center provides current UB students, faculty, and staff with recreational and fitness opportunities that are geared to increase an individual’s overall health and well-being.
Separate locker rooms are provided for men and women. The Recreation Center offers a variety of recreational programming consisting of intramural sports and wellness programs.
Our facilities include:
- Newly renovated 6-lane 25-meter swimming pool
- 3 multipurpose courts for activities such as volleyball, soccer, flag-football, and basketball
- Fitness center
- Fitness studio
Wheeler Recreation Center hours
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9 a.m.-10 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday: 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 12-5 p.m.
Summer hours
Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Our fitness center also includes fitness bars, medicine balls, ab rollers, stability balls, and dumbbells ranging from 5 to 75 lbs.
